Hi, sorry as this is my first post at the forum but I wanted to specifically post to lots of Spanish Speccy fans.
We're in the process of creating 6 Speccy books, done the first two, and we're looking for new contributors to write reviews for other games. Recently had a 2 page news item on the book in Retro Gamer.
http://www.spectrumgamesbible.co.uk/
Books 1 and 2 are out, books 3-6 are being done but feel free to contribute, we pay 50p per review we use and you get your name against the review etc. It would be great to feature some of the best Spanish games in the books if someone can do an english review (200-400 words).
The final book (1994-2008) we'll have as many reviews as possible of latest games so i know theres a lot from CEZ so there'll be lots in there.
If you can help out with any outstanding reviews for books 3-6 please let me know or if a game isnt listed and you want to review it (Eg a spanish game) then please let me know as i'm happy to add new reviews to the book.
Regards
Paul

Re: Spectrum Review book
Hello, mate, nice to see you around!
I learned about the books recently and I find them a great contribution to the retroscene. I'm planning on buying them, and I was also thinking about contributing. My main problem is that maybe my English is not good enough to be featured in a book, so I wonder if you have a good proof-reader which could fix my mistakes if I submit a couple of reviews. If so, you can count with a couple comming from me!
It's a great idea. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Spectrum Review book
Thanks for your reply Nathan.
Got an email from you which i'm replying to.
To anyone else - I would love to have the best (and maybe not so well known) spanish games in the book as people like to read about the best games/underated games/not so well known ones and even some of the worst ones !
Please feel free to contribute.

Re: Spectrum Review book
Hi Paul,
Is the game list already closed? I have seen in the webpage that there is a list of games for every year.
And about the reviews, do you just want "the words", or would you like to get screenshots as well? I have a couple of games in mind, and if I have some time (and a proofreader) I may prepare a review.

Re: Spectrum Review book
Hi
The game list isnt closed, if theres any great/not so well known/underated/bad games not on the list i'm happy to add more ! Book 2 had about 40 extra games added which werent on the website so the list is never a 'closed' list as i want to get as many as possible !
So pleaes feel free to do any games not on the list, just let me know in case someone has already asked me.
For the reviews just do the words and what i normally do is use the screenshots from the WOS archive, if theres room i add the loading screen as well.
We'll get someone to proof-read the review so dont worry about that. Would be great to feature lots of spanish games that a lot of UK people (and spanish) arent aware of which they should give the game a chance.
Thats what i like about the book, even 25 years later i'm 'discovering' games i never tried first time round and really enjoying them
Regards

Re: Spectrum Review book
Sounds bad but sometimes i wont have tried a game just because of the name of it ! Then someone recommends it and i give it a go and i love the game. Or i might see a screenshot in a magazine/website and think 'have to try that one' !
I didnt try Midnight Resistance for years as i couldnt stand the first level (on the back of that jeep) but i gave it another go and totally loved it !

Re: Spectrum Review book
That happens to me quite a lot of time. I don't know what happens, but most of my most loved games of all time turned me down on the first stage. I just had to persevere.
