spanish games to install with WHDLOAD help required !!!

Mensaje por dlfrsilver »

Hello to you Spanish fellows,

I'm asking for help on spanish games because it's very hard to get/buy
spanish games and then make disk images to be installed with WHDLOAD
under winuae.

My question is : Are there people here that OWN spanish games in original
and whom can be able to image them on an amiga 1200 and then transfer
images on their PC and then send them to me via mail ?

For example games like Corsarios, Lorna, astro marine corps, Sol negro,
Viaje al centro de la tierra......

All help will be appreciated :)

By the way some spanish games have already been preserved by CAPS
project : After the war, risky woods for example.

The IPF amiga images can be used on Winuae. It's pure original amiga
images with protection in it. I have these images -> i'll be able to give them to you.

If you don't know what it is check this page : http://www.caps-project.org

there are 2400 games preserved actually on amiga.....

For further informations, please contact me on MSN at Dlfrsilver@hotmail.fr .

Thanks if you can help, because amiga disk games will collapse in a few
time, and it's so hard to get this spanish titles....

Thank you,

regards,

Dlfrsilver a french CAPS/WHDLOAD contributor

thanks to you people :P

Spanish games on CAPS? Now that's interesting. About people around having clean, original Amiga disks of the games you mention, I don't think so. As you know, the problem with WHDLoad installers is that they only accept images made from ORIGINAL, untrained disks. And of course most of the stuff around is either cracked or trained. In the cases you mention, I can't remember seing any orignal image floating around nor being included in the TOSEC sets. Sorry, but in some cases it was already an adventure to get proper images working, such as games like Lorna or Narco Police. Those gave us lots of trouble, until WinUAE finally emulated them properly.

In case you are interested, I remember there was a JST version of Lorna around, but I never got it working properly under AIAB, which is what I mostly use for HD-installed games. I think I emailed a copy long ago to Karnevi, the webmaster, and he said he had send it to Katakis, our Amiga expert.

hello Neville,

Well so it seems then that spanish games are very very rare then
except the one i have in CAPS format. Astro marine corps on amiga
was sent by me on CAPS server for preservation.

So the originals of spanish games are impossible to find ???

such a shame if it's the case....

Because even if they were very hard, they were very ingenious
and beautiful graphically.....

I hope people who may have them will rise one day....

thanks !!!

I'm afraid that's the case. Otherwise, Karnevi would have posted them here instead of the cracked / trained versions that are available over the net. However, there's always the chance that some people may convert their old disks / files into emulator friendly formats. I've answered a few topics on how to do it (through DISK2FDI or other systems) in the past, so you never can tell. A few months ago, for instance, the author of an Amstrad CPC game managed to send us his work after we told him how to transfer it from his old computer. It was a previously unreleased game called Atlantida 3000.

Indeed. I consider both Lorna and Viaje al centro de la Tierra some of the best Amiga games ever released. It's a pity our industry didn't make the transition from 8 to 16 bits properly. It was a very abrupt transition and many companies just couldn't make it.

yes, and the thing that surprise me is that there's no people collecting
amiga or atari games actually in spain, like if all the games this period
has seen were damned to go to hell because people go on PCs......

therefore in France, England, germany and other country we are very active
about these machines, i even buy myself spanish games when i can do it
myself..... like Astro marine corps, satan....

the main problem must be that the spanish games were surely sold
in few copies.....it's now a holy grail quest, i'll try to do my best to buy them
if people sold them on ebay.

Thanks Neville !!!

I just posted a message asking to former Amiga users that still own their old disks to contact us if they have any originals. I'm not very confident about getting results in the short run, but I'll try to keep my eyes open just in case anything pops up. Meanwhile, a "wanted list" from you would be very useful. You can post it as an answer to the "Llamamiento a usuarios de Amiga" thread.

Hi Dflrsilver,

Talking about my experience, it's so difficult to find any original spanish game for Atari ST or Amiga, but harder for the second. Even, the people of Dinamic have not the originals (they contacted us in order to get them!).

We'll do our best to get the games, and something new about will posted here.
Un saludo,

I have a CAPS related question, BTW: Where can I get the releases? I've been navigating on the CAPS site, but all I could find was a releases database and the WinUAE/WinFellow plugin to read them...
