Heh, I found the AMC one just a couple of days ago after realising the Spectrum sites usually have more resources than the other 8 bits. Can you translate the message on the end screen for me?
Thanks people for the translation and that google translator thing I never even seen before
I'm gonna have the game say something similar at the end but a bit rewritten so it doesn't sound like an obvious translation. Hopefully my end sequence will be a tad prettier too.

Wolverine, just a question:
Have you got any screenshots to show us?
Well I have a shot of when I first started my AMC remake but it's pretty old and I wanna redo the sprites before I post a new shot as I have a different idea for how I want them to look this time around.

OK!
I'm so excited for seeing a screenshot of this remake.
Think you've seen the old screenshot a while ago on the RR forums, when I was briefly Green Arrow. Game will run at 320x240 (with scaling for 640x480 resolution, unlike Eagle's Nest which is designed for 640x480). Basically I want it to feel really arcade like. The tiles I did in the old shot will be used in this one but the game engine is being redone as are the sprites as I wanna do something that's easier to achieve fluid animation in a quicker time. Tried to get the new player sprite designed tonight but my damn neighbors had music up way too loud and I couldn't concentrate.

Preview of characters. The enemy on the right is actually recolored and modified version of the original player sprite I did when I first attempted this remake. I felt it lacked that 'hero' vibe and was a bit short and stumpy. The face mask also made him a bit characterless... which is all perfect for hordes of enemy 'grunts'.
The blonde player is meant to represent the guy from the original AMC in a new suit. Either character is selectable in 1 player mode, and of course both get used in 2 player.
Thanks, but for all ya know it might be a badly coded unplayable piece of crap
Haven't been able to get as much done as I'd like but in a couple of months or so I should be getting moved to a quiet new home where I should be able to get some sleep and rest and be able to concentrate more on getting this all done.
smolkomotion escribió:Wolverine,
know any good sites for sprite tutorials?
I always find this question hard to say as I never used tutorials myself so it's difficult for me to judge which is good or not but the most popular ones (and done by pixellers I respect) are:
This ones by a friend of mine who's one of the most highly popular modern pixellers around. http://spriteart.com/main.html
This ones by a guy I never knew myself but is always linked to. EDIT: Actually after reading the new couple of chapters I strongly disagree with them... http://www.bigbluebubble.com/pixeltutorial/
Well I'd hoped to get more done on this one but the project was quite big and due to health problems and my current living situation I've been unable to devote much time and concentration to do this game justice, finding it much easier to work on smaller games for now. So, sorry, but I'm pulling out of the competition and wishing everyone else good luck. To anyone who was looking forward to this version of AMC, it will be continued once my problems are over and I can really do this game well.
Theres some great looking remakes in this contest. Nice work.
heh, the [Cancelled] bit sounds a bit final. It's just on hold. Also, I've been building my current platformer engine with future projects in mind including using it for AMC. So the coding will be easy enough. It's just the large amount of graphics I need to concentrate on. However I may be possibly moving to my friends house in their spare room for a while to get away from the problems in my current 'home'. Dunno if it'll be too late to work my ass off and get AMC done anyways. Was end of July the closing date huh? Hmm. I reckon I'd have a month. Could be done... if I was as fast as Superman...
What the hell. As of now the game isn't part of the contest but if a miracle happens and I get it done then I'll submit it, else I'll work on it over the next year. No big deal.
